The Northern Skies Observatory saw first light in September 2011. The brainchild of David Magnus and Sidney Wanzer, the NSO, which is run by the Northeast Kingdom Astronomy Foundation, is dedicated to exposing students of all ages to the joys of observational astronomy. The NSO engages students in astrophotography for aesthetic and scientific purposes.
